Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
I wear the off battery operated unit. Many have made sprays with essential oils of lavender or lemon. As far as the bugs in the garden sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth around and see if that helps.
I've also used Skin So Soft from Avon. Smells better than bug spray.
itchy welts? mosquitoes? or chiggers? mosquitoes may swarm in clouds or a few at a time. they are born in areas where water is still or stagnate. try dumping out any container that is holding water- under potted plants, bird baths. water barrels can be treated with mosquito dunks or pellets.
chiggers are very small red colored bugs- they like to get under your skin for a snack of blood. the really like to get under tight spots of clothing- elastic cuffs, socks. they can cause blisters-with a tiny red spot in them. tiny spot is the chigger. they also cause itchy red welts.
I use Skin So Soft oil from Avon. It works every time!
Make sure to keep arms and legs covered also. Some people have a sensitivity to plants, such as tomatoes, squash, and potato leaves. I live Skin So Soft also, but covering up helps immensely. Hot yes, but worth it.
