We wanted a closet in the corner of our office to replace the built in storage I finally couldn't stand. Instead of just adding two walls, we "cut the corner" with a small wall big enough to put in a folding closet door. We had the help of a handyman who said we could just nail 2 x 4's to the floor and glue matching 2 x 4's above them on the ceiling. You should frame the walls with 2 x 4's running vertically between them, trying to keep the vertical boards about 16" on center. We then sheet rocked the walls inside and out. Baseboard to match the rest of the room covered the bottom edge of the sheetrock, and we added a medium sized molding to the meeting of the walls and ceiling in the entire room, which took care of the meeting of the new sheetrock and the ceiling- it was kind of a mock crown molding. My biggest worry when starting was how to attach the 2 x 4's to the ceiling, but liquid nails worked great, and they're really held up by the vertical boards that run between the floor and ceiling.
