Which type of storage should I use?

I'm slowing becoming a minimalist. I live alone in a small house with 2 small bedrooms. One bedroom I use for storage. Right now it looks more like a junk room.
What I'm wanting to know is what type of storage would look the nicest, plain and simple?
Right now I have open shelves storing everything from cleaners to makeup and personal supplies and it doesn't look pretty.
Should I buy a couple of small pantrys for $100 or so? Should I buy a linen tower?
Also I'm planning on putting my computer and desk in the 2nd bedroom to free up some room in the small living room.
I like primitive/country/farmhouse type things. I don't go for anything that looks too modern! icon
If someone could point me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it.

since you have existing shelves, I would suggest fabric cubes. You can make your own by covering cardboard boxes (free at grocery stores or ask someone who works at an office to save you paper ream boxes with lids) with fabric.

If you like a farmhouse look you could see if you could find old crates to use on the shelving, or buy cheap bins from the dollar store and spray paint them silver and add little chalkboard labeled tags on them (you can make these or buy them) to organize everything out of sight on the shelves.

Really good ideas already. I love bins, but, also use an old hutch for storage. I'm going to paint it in the near future, but, it holds a ton of stuff!

I also have purchased baskets at second hand stores and use those to organize things on shelves.
