Carol S on Jan 19, 2014Well, it depends on what you have on hand and what your shepherd is capable of. Have the dogs met each other on neutral ground?Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Jan 20, 2014I almost fell off my chair laughing! The fussiest one of the bunch around me is the 5 lb. Chihuahua, "Miss Lily"! Even with a fence, I would imagine they would "scent" each other and still fuss. The only thing you can do is to limit access to that area...but I do not have any suggestions as to materials.Helpful Reply

Kaytee on Jan 21, 2014We have a 5', solid board fence between our yard and our "back fence neighbor". They have some sort of little fluff-ball (and kids)... we have a Border Collie/lab mix and a doxie/chi/Jack Russel mix. Our little dog takes exception to the kids making noise-- and scolds them, which gets their little fluff ball yapping, which gets our larger dog barking and trying to dig under the fence to shut that little squeaker up. They can't see each other, and well, we do put dog poop along the fenceline as both fertilizer for the plants, and as a rodent deterrent, so I don't think they smell each other-- just hear each other. So... I think you'll just need to learn to live with it. Maybe plant something your dog doesn't like to walk on/through, or set large pots there to keep him away from that corner will help. Right now... I need to refill the hole, and replant the bromeliads that have been dug up... again.Helpful Reply

LeeAnn Gerleman on Sep 10, 2015Its those little dogs.....I had a neighbor once with a min. dachshund. That doggie sneaked over every time I left the house to bite the back of my foot! they have a Napoleon complex or something. My big 100 pound lab used to love the smaller dogs, and they'd jump and attack him as if he was trying to kill them. (I'm just kidding here). I'd suggest putting up a cheap little gardening fence to block that corner off, and train your dog not to cross that little fence. Maybe he'd lose interest.Helpful Reply

Lisa Rose on Sep 12, 2015Thanks everyone. But I finally stood a pallet up caddy corner. As it at least stops the eye contact they all still bicker. Thanks again.Helpful Reply
