Chalk paint is great to use on surfaces that are difficult to work with, because it adheres to pretty much anything and requires little to no prep work. Just clean your surfaces, and do an optional light sanding and then paint!

Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

First they need to be cleaned and sanded some. Wipe down with a soft cloth, leaving no residue, and start painting following the grain of the wood. Try to maintain even coats of paint to avoid drips and overlapping and brush marks.

Paint a little less paint on the 2nd layer of paint and use a good, clean brush .
