Sand them, clean them , and if their wood you can restain them. If they the old metal legs, you can spray paint those and do something different with the top. Your imagination is the only limit . Have fun with it .
What is the table made out of?
As previously suggested, paint them! For the top, how about mod pod and then seal so that a tablecloth is not always necessary.
On the metal ones, the top is usually covered with a vinyl material. You can actually remove the top and replace the vinyl with a cute, modern vinyl or outdoor fabric.
