I would chalk paint this! I had 3 pieces of furniture in our bedroom that didn't match. Chalk painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint and it turned out beautifully. Make sure you wax it too! I destressed as well. This would be perfect for a child's bedroom. Any new dings would just blend in!

I do chalk painting and distressing also. I have a 4 piece set just like this I picked up for $50.00. My hardest thing to do is pick a color, I want to use on a piece or create my own custom color. When it's done I hate to sell it, but I use the money to purchase and paint again. Then on to another project. Love the lines on the old furniture. This is my salvation at times, a piece to paint, sweet tea and good music, I'm in heaven.

I am not a chalk paint fan, but I do suggest it! It is easy, you don't have to sand or strip, and it dries so hard!!! The con for me is the wax that is needed over the paint. And the expense. But it will wear well!

Even through painting I think is great even with chalk paint if you don't prepare it right it will peel off. I would clean, sand to rough it up and clean again then paint.

Chalk Paint for sure would look beautiful. For sealing the paint with wax, apply a small amount with a wax brush then use a lint free cloth to wipe off the excess. It will be "dry" to the touch immediately, but you should avoid heavy use until the wax fully cures (usually about 3 weeks depending on humidity).
