How can I camouflage this eyesore without spending a lot?

My husband and I bought a home that needed some work. On one of the outside brick walls has paint on it. Mostly on the lower half next to the garage. Some of the paint was brushed sloppily and some was just splashed on. We found out that a teenage girl who's boyfriend was angry had spray painted some unkind words so the paint was meant to cover it up.
My question is how can I camouflage this eyesore without spending a lot?

Hi Donna, I like the idea of planting something to hide it. You could put in something tall such as ornamental grass. Or you could plant something that will actually climb up the wall such as Ivy or moss. Your local garden center will be able to help with choices that do well. OR You could just paint the wall. What style of home is it, one story or two? If you are talking about a one story and you don't mind picking up paint, painting brick is a great way to give your home (and old brick) an updated look (that really shouldn't break the bank). The other idea would to put up an arbor and plant a climbing plant along with bushes or shrubs. But I would still lean more toward the paint job (priming over the mess first) to take care of it.

I'm for just painting it. If you are wanting it to blend with other brick area, but not wanting to paint everything, come as close as you can to a paint that is the color of the brick to paint over, sticking to the actual edges of each brick on the edges of the painted area, and then paint a brick here and there beyond the edges so it blends in.
