HELP ! I want to construct a fixture out of a large piece of driftwood, to display my hat collection. Any advice?
Do you already have the piece of driftwood? Depending on what it looks like or is shaped like, you could add hooks to it that you can hang your hats from. Can you share a picture of it?
Sounds like a fantastic idea! Without seeing the piece of driftwood, I do not know if it has any naturally poking out pieces where you can hang a hat. I am thinking that some hat hooks fashioned out of metal would be placed around the driftwood in a pattern that pleases you, like in a row or scattered to coordinate with the natural shape of the wood. You need to decide if you want to attach the piece to the wall or maybe suspend it from the ceiling with chains. If the driftwood is part of a beach-theme décor go to Hobby Lobby or other store and shop for hat hooks to complement the theme. If there is no beach-theme find something sleek and simple so it won't compete for attention with the hats and the driftwood. I hope some of these ideas will spark your marvelous creativity!!! Good luck!
I love the idea of just adding some hooks and keeping it natural!
