If you are painting over a laminate counter top, then you will need to sand down the surface. Wipe away remaining dust, then dry the counter top before painting the counter top with a primer and paint roller. Apply one to two coats of paint and then seal the surface with polyurethane after the paint has dried.

I have shared this previously. We painted 2 laminate counters in spare bathrooms. Used a gray color(cabinets white). Sealed the AS chalk paint with 3 coats of minwax polyacrylic. Able to wipe off water easily. These rooms are not used much, but paint has held up well. A great temporary fix for sure!!
