upholstering chairs

Z on Jan 20, 2014A yard of 54" wide fabric will do two average dining chairs (seats only). If you're shopping locally your best bet is to take one of the removed seats with you. This way if there's any pattern to the fabric you'll know for sure just how much fabric you'll need to center the pattern on the seat. Most fabric store clerks will be able to help you with this. Not so much at a WM as they rarely have trained fabric/craft department clerks anymore.Helpful Reply

Helen Garrett on Jan 21, 20141/2 yard per chair, a stapler and a bottle of wine did my 6 chairs last time and they now need it again. I chose a fabric with virtually no pattern in order to keep it simple.Helpful Reply
