Usually basic watering. If in pots and the sun gets too hot, move pots or an old umbrella makes great shading. To keep from getting too leggy, trim/clip from the center and they will bush out more. Also, if growing faster than you can use them in cooking, clip a small bunch and take in the house and put in small vase/jar. Smells wonderful in the kitchen.

I've had good luck growing herbs outside with very little work. Mostly I just trim them if I'm not already using enough and they grow. I have mine planted in areas that are not direct sun and drain well.

Mint, oregano, and a few others will spread all over and take over so keep an eye on them. I know grow all mine in pots for that reason. Herbs don't take much care, just make sure they get water as needed and trimming. A lot of them seem to not want much care, just water and weeding.

  • All easy to grow without much tending to. If you have excess, you can dry and save for use at a later date. I grow a lot extra just for this purpose, and dry between layers of cheesecloth naturally or if you have a dehydrator, that will work well too. Then I place in tins or bottles and give as gifts to people who love to cook and bake.
