You got this!! To remove old resilient flooring, first cut it into parallel strips about 6 inches wide with a utility knife. Use a hammer to tap a stiff putty knife or brick chisel under the linoleum to break it loose. Pull the linoleum up in strips to reveal the backing or the glue. http://www.improvenet.com/a/diy-how-to-remove-old-vinyl-flooring-linoleum-and-glue
How old is the flooring? Is the original floor telegraphing thru? Hard to make a comment without seeing the floor. If it's so old that it may be made with asbestos, or the adhesive contains asbestos( yes, they even used asbestos in the adhesive. it is usually black in color. better to encapsulate it. Apply a tile membrane and tile over it with porcelain tile..I did this on one job.
Awesome & thank you!
