go on line or YouTube and look up straw bail gardening this is a great way to garden especially if you have poor soil you also have the benefit of raised bed gardening. it can be expensive buying the straw bales unless you have a source to buy wholesale. I have friends that do this type of Veggie gardening with great success and the bales are good for 2 years. I do know you have to prep the bales with water saturated fertilizer for a number of weeks before planting and you can grow just about anything in the straw bales and flowers in the sides of the bales to make them look a little nicer.
