How does one get this textured look on a candle? Is this paint??

This candle has a beautiful finish to it and I'd love to recreate it. Any ideas as to what it might be and how it stays adhered to a wax candle?
I would not add paint because of the possible flamibility risk. You could try a melted wax drip effect.
Try textured spray paint. There are so many colors, finishes and textures.
I'm guessing thats the bottom of candle? maybe side? doesnt matter...looks like it's sand which is put in mold first before pouring wax into mold & the 'holes' can be gotten with ice..wax hardens before ice totally melts but leaves a void.
It looks like it was poured into a concrete pipe mold to me. Now I want to try this.
What kind of paint is this?
A)if want to paint a candle , there is a special medium that must be added to the paint or it won't stick, it will flake off. I buy mine at Hobby Lobby or online at candle supply stores .
B) I know how to get the pitted texture you're looking at and its pretty easy . If you make candles using molds, you know that you have to spray the mold with something like a non-stick cooking spray and wipe out the excess or the cooled wax will not release from the mold . The pitted effect you are looking at is a result of not properly wiping the spray out of the mold . The color of the wax can be achieved by mixing dyes just like you mix paint on a pallet . It takes practice . I have doing it for over 20 years .
Folkart Candle and Soap Medium or Hobby lobby has their own brand . Acrylic paint will stick but you can't burn the candle as the paint is flammable .
