I want to run all my tv and home theater wires in the wall then put in connection boxes to plug to devices? I live in a ranch style house.

May I suggest hiring an electrician? Building codes must be followed or your homeowners insurance will be voided. My hubster did this at his house and this is not a simple DIY. Not meaning to dissappoint you, just do not want you to run into trouble down the road.
