I bought a kitchen scrubber with a soap holder handle, in which I mixed vinegar and dishwashing liquid. I scrubbed it on, left it for a few hours, rinsed and repeated where necessary. We now squeegee every day, and I use the scrubby to do quick cleans every couple of weeks, no more waiting. It works beautifully!
The scrubby is similar to this, and we keep it by the shower.

vinegar and water, or lime away. Lime away you can get from home improvement store , walmart, etc.
Clorox makes a bathroom spray that really works!
I use Barkeeper's cleanser in the spray bottle. LOVE it! For rust spots, WD-40 works wonders. Best of luck.
Commercial option is CLR - read the label to ensure it will not remove surface of your shower base or trim. Old fashioned cure is baking soda and salt with small amount of vinegar used as a scrub
After you remove the spots and use the shower again, simply make sure to squeegee down the glass after each showering. It sure saves a lot of work and the glass looks great.
Getting into the habit of a simple squeegee after each shower, saves tons of aggravation later on!
