I've heard it can be a pin to get rid of it but here's a good how to guide.
You'll have to dig it all up, otherwise the tubers will continue to migrate until your yard is full.
Bamboo is very difficult to remove.I made that huge mistake myself. If there is no grass or plants around you can try to use the total vegetation killer.
cut it out . once it's cut out and eliminated it won't grow back.
Huge problem when I lived in Mississippi. It spreads through its root system. If you want to keep it but don't want it to spread you have to create a deep, impermeable barrier. Dig a trench and put metal or vinyl in the trench at and below ground level You'll need it to be a thorough barrier--many inches deep. A few suggested products are vinyl or metal siding, flashing (comes in rolls & can be found at Lowes, Home Depot, etc). Or you can dig deep and pour concrete.
Good luck!
