Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Weed be gone, then use preen to keep them away.
If there are no flowers or grass involved make a mixture of white vinegar and water 50/50 a dab of dish soap and a dab of salt
Most effective? A commercial weed killer that has a sprayer attached so you can zap just the area you want. My hubby attaches a gizmo to one of our propane tanks and burns them.
roundup. it don't hurt animals only kills weeds. Spray it on a calm day.
Boiling water!
mixture of vinegar and salt, found the recipe on pintrest, the salt will stop anything growing and the vinegar kills what is growing
You can use boiling water with vinegar, salt, baking soda, and lemon juice. It will surely kill it, but don't thing to plant anything again soon after that... You'll have to wait a bit.
I just use straight Pickling Vinegar ... that is available at any grocery store. Pickling Vinegar is stronger than regular vinegar. No need to add anything else. I bought a plant mister from the dollar store and keep it handy whenever outside. Be sure to spray it on the weeds on a hot, sunny day because the combination of the sun and Pickling Vinegar burns the weed. If the weed has grown and has fairly large leaves, I will try to pull away some of the leaves so that the vinegar (and sun) hits the weed better. If a few large leaves are in the way, the vinegar and sun can't zero in on the weed and root as easily. Whenever I'm working in the garden, I carry my plant mister with me; ready to spray any weeds before they get a chance to grow large. Be sure to avoid spraying the lawn or any flowers.
