Get Home Defense and spray all around the outside and inside your home.
Sprinkle powdered borax around where you think they are coming in. Don't breathe it. Not terribly toxic,But it's not good for your lungs. The ants like it but it's not good for them either. You can sprinkle in and out of the house. Wait for a dry day.

They may be carpenter ants. It could be that they came out of tree that was removed or trimmed, recently. You will want to get your yard/house treated if that is the case. You probably need to call an exterminator - ask around for a good/honest one. You probably should have them check for termites, too.
I used Goldbond medicated powder on my window sill.No more ants .Its been 2 or 3 months.Same powder.Today , my back E.P. Henry patio was covered in ant hills. So I used the powder.Let you know if it works. Also worked in closet next to bathroom.Nothing appeared.3 to 4 weeks now.Different species , too!
