Can I paint my popcorn ceiling?
I have been painting my walls and notice that my ceiling looks yellowish. Can I paint this ceiling as well? I'm up for any ideas
Make sure they are clean and dry. Prime with a good stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123 or BIN. Then paint. If the paneling has grooves you can fill them with drywall patching compound. Let it dry overnight. Next day go over the grooves with a damp sponge to smooth them out. Then paint.
Painting over vinyl wall covering or wall paper is a bad idea. I think it will enhance the seams. Painting over paneling is good - try texturizing with spackle or a faux finish with different colors to create depth
