How to replace old Church key locks?

We have a couple doors from the 1920's which have the old church key style lock in our home. Is there any way of replacing those locks with more modern day style without damaging the doors? I love the hardware, just don't have a key to unlock if someone happens to press the toggle lock buttons on the side of the door. And one door I would like to have a little more secure.

In your planning, think about double-bolt locks plus any regular locks you want. If the doors are to be at all secure, all of them need sturdy locks. And every window needs a lock, too. You should be able to do the job yourself if you use the proper tools. And locks can be painted or stained. Very best wishes for you and your 100-year house. 😇
