Decide how big and what shape you want it and start out with one row of rock and keep stacking till you get the look you want.
Thanks for the great share Hillela! They did a fantastic job on their rock garden bed! Rock gardening is the best way to get rid of rocks you stumble on as you walk in the yard or driveway...I re-use the rock I find as i'm going through the landscaping process...I set it aside until I find a new home for it...like I did when I re-landscaped after septic tank risers were put in place. Now you would never know that there are septic tank risers UNDER the rock/stump/statues! If ideas are needed for a dry creek rock garden...take a look at a real stream & follow the example it gives.
