I wish I could draw on this page. I haven't done it myself, but we have those arched doorways between our Kit, & DR, the between our DR & LR. We widened them and I watched how they did it. They constructed angled boards across the are held in place by 2x4's that were also angled above. When they added the wall board they made it round and added plaster up to the wood. That's all I can remember but that might help inspire your imagination or maybe someone else with post with better details.
