Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
There are products to treat the tree if that is what you are asking. I am a huge fan of vinegar washes, because they don't harm the vegetation as much as chemical insecticides can. However, ants are a pain, so I do use Amdro granules in small amounts around bases of my fruit trees to keep the ants to a minimum. Hope this helps
Use a systemic organic insect killer. Do not use regular ant killers on fruit trees
Natural ant killer: White, small grain rice on the ground at the base of the tree or on surrounding mounds will provide the ants with something to either take back to their mound or eat. Once they drink water, the ants will blow up. Reapply on dry ground after it rains.
