i grew 4 lemon trees from the seeds of a lemon. Place on potting soil in a small pot and cover lightly with more potting soil. Spray lightly with water. Wet but not soaked. Cover with plastic wrap. Make a couple of holes in the wrap. Place in a north facing window where it will get 10 hours of light. Do not let it dry out. Check often and spay with water to keep it moist. When sprouts appear you can remove the wrap. Again, keep seedlings moist but don't drown them. When they reach 2-3" high and have two sets of leaves, gently select the strongest ones and repot in their own larger container. Leave in the window Lemon trees need a lot of water when mature. Home Depot sells fertilizer tablets for fruit trees. One a month in the soil during growing season. The second year you can put them on your deck or patio when the temperature is warm. Bring them in for the winter when it gets chilly before frost. Some varieties need two plants to provide lemons. I have one that is 3' tall but I have not gotten any lemons on it yet. My 4 others are still babies. Good luck. It is fun to watch them sprout and grow.
