The easiest way is to give them a thorough cleaning and then paint them with chalkpaint- no sanding or priming needed!
you can do it the easy way or the way I did it, I am a retired interior house painter, I took all the doors off, cleaned them and put on a coat of sanding primer it is brushed on and is expensive but I wanted the oak grain gone too, then sanded again added a little here and there where needed, sanded those spots I then put on 3 coats of Bin primer, I painted both the inside and outside of my cabinets and changed all the hardware too, now I must say I did not use a finish coat of paint I still have the Bin on mine inside and outside and they will stay that way. I love the color soft white and the sheen soft glow not shiny and it is so easy to wipe off the food and nothing sticks to it like so many water based paints I have a few places to touch up and I know it will match perfectly can to can, try it, it drys fast in a few minutes it is tough and
water resistant,
Probably not the advice you were looking for, but: a light sanding and a coat of varnish will bring out the beauty of the wood.
I have the very same cabinets. I used chalk paint and love them
I agree with chalk paint. .polycrylic to seal them.
