We bought a house that one of the bedrooms has part of a lower wall painted with the paint that makes it a chalkboard. What do I need to do to paint over thsi
Using 180-grit sandpaper, lightly sand the surface, then wash the area with soap and water to clean the surface. Once the surface is dry, apply a latex primer. After one hour, wall paint can be applied over the surface.
I whole heartedly agree with Bobbie. I have painted it straight up from with a latex paint without the prep, and the texture looked horrible.
