I use sheers for my large windows that face the street but windows under 48" in my home have white 2" wood blinds.

I agree we had lowes install the 2 inch white blinds no curtains they just get dusty
I suggest drapes/curtains of some type...due to the fact that we had only blinds on our windows...but the cold air always seemed to be present. Once I made & put in place some light weight curtains...the temperature in the house went UP by 2 degrees! So...in summer...the house is COOLER due to the exchange of heat from outside NOT GETTING IN & winters are warmer by NOT LETTING AS MUCH COLD IN.
Blinds trap the dust forever; at least curtains you can wash....
Oops! I forgot to say light color drapes keep the room from being too cluttered.🤔
