Should I use curtains/drapes or leave uncovered?

Long 28' x narrow 15' great room with eating area on one end. The front door and a large 6' wide window are on one end , the opposite end has a sliding patio door 6' and another 6' wide window. The patio end doesn't really need privacy as there are no neighbors and it faces north so no direct sun light, but it feels bare . The front window faces the street and does need privacy at night, but only has about 15" stack back space on either side. Suggestions needed and welcome.

I use sheers for my large windows that face the street but windows under 48" in my home have white 2" wood blinds.

I suggest drapes/curtains of some type...due to the fact that we had only blinds on our windows...but the cold air always seemed to be present. Once I made & put in place some light weight curtains...the temperature in the house went UP by 2 degrees! So...in summer...the house is COOLER due to the exchange of heat from outside NOT GETTING IN & winters are warmer by NOT LETTING AS MUCH COLD IN.

Blinds trap the dust forever; at least curtains you can wash....

Oops! I forgot to say light color drapes keep the room from being too cluttered.🤔
