Our dining room is doing double duty as a study/homework station, which I love. But I didn't love having my dining room table covered with text books and school supplies. SO, I decided to add bookshelves for storage. I knew I wanted a built-in look without the built-in price. I found 2 Billy Bookcases online for $60 total and transformed into a single built-in unit. I'm so happy with this Billy Bookcase .

BEFORE... I bought 2 Ikea Billy Bookcases for a total of $60 from online classifieds.
AFTER: I sanded, primed, painted and aged the booked cases. Butted them together and used a piece of trim to join them together, creating the look of one piece.
I shopped the house and filled the bookcases with sentimental treasures and home accents
Text books found a new home on the bottom shelf. I'm looking for baskets to put them in.
With the new storage, I got my dining room table back!
And I just love the way the bookcases dress up my dining room!
