Should I cut off the shoots on my roses coming from the root stock?

    Yes ...remove the suckers as they will take the necessary nutrients from the bush.

    Yes, the root stock is sometimes not the same as the bush grafted to it, so it may be a completely different rose.

    Shoots coming up from root stock on roses is a great indicator that the root section is planted too deep in the soil. Root stocks are used as a base system for the new/graphed rose...what grows up from the main root stock is the 'original rose' plant...and will e an entirely different rose bush...usually an inferior, smaller rose bush.
