contact the moving company for recourse
Agree with Janet, absolutely contact moving company...and then a leather furniture company. This looks pretty severe for a DIY.
Your should try for moving company to pay for the damaged leather couch. Otherwise, you can look on the internet for places that specialize in the types of repairs that you need.
Contact your insurance company or if you listed this item in an insurance document with your mover you claim damaged directly from them. Then I would Google Leather Repairs for your region.
Suppose it was not possible to get the claim back. Then with the same coloured thread stitch it up and after that have a Red Indian woven backseat cover matching with the leather for the three sofas! It may look even more of a designer's product. then what you have got right now! Far Asian countries cover you may look for! Red and black would go very well ofcourse and it should be handmade Ethnic. All the best Woollen / or any heavier material to match.
All the best
Sadly Italian leather is nearly impossible to DIY repair. You're going to need a professional for a rip this long. Sorry to disappoint. Didn't the movers have a bond? If they were legal they'll carry an insurance policy which covers damages. If it was friends or a fly by night illegal mover, you're stuck with the expense.
Thank u all so very much.... sad to say but movers wasn't professional movers, somebody that had a truck and I trusted 😓 wasn't thinking clearly, this is what happens when u try to be cheap lol ....trust me i know not to ever do this again..i did a Google search and found a outstanding company that will pick couch up to fix this problem
Cost alot, but itll be well worth it
Appreciate you guys so much😘😘😘😘
You can use the leather from one part of the couch to repair the torn part. Have a furniture repair person remove the back portion of the couch to repair the torn section. The leather will match perfectly. Then replace the back leather section with the closest matching leather you can find. Generally the back portion is facing a wall so a slight mismatch of leather color won't be as noticeable as changing out the front, arms or sides to a slightry mismatched leather. Good luck with your repair.
Take pictures of the damage. Send those to the moving company. They have insurance concerning this type of occurance. I had some furniture damaged in a move from Texas and after submitting photos of that damage they sent me a check but be patient most companies don't like sending out refunds.
