If your problem is ants you can sprinkle baby powder made from Talc, the ants will die. If your problem is outside, sprinkle a line of powder on concrete and the ants will not cross the line

Try Diatomatious Earth. It is safe.
For inside insects, they hate disinfectant spray. If it doesn't kill them, it will usually disable them long enough to swat!
Look into essential oils...I use a lemon/peppermint mix to get rid of spiders on my porch
