I have not been able to get a decent finish on the floor. The products I have seen require a rayon mop. Where do I even fid one. Please help! I think today they are called composite flooring. Just like you find in a hospital or Dr. office.

  • My first question to you~did you properly seal floor after installation? Just like in a hospital or dr office these floors are sealed and waxed with a protective coating. To clean you use a mild soap & water or even a white vinegar & water with a mop. I would mop the floor a couple times to remove any residue from the cleaners you have used and dry the floor. do not saturate the floor with water and make sure the mop is wrung out. Nothing fancy (dishwashing liquid is neutral ph ~do not use acidic or any abrasive cleaners). Spills need to be cleaned up right away or the floor will stain. Sweeping every day to keep the floor shiny and mopping up any dirt is a must. then every couple years the floor needs to be "stripped" and coated again with an acrylic floor polisher. Buff machines are used in hospitals and offices to keep the floor shiny. Hope this info helped

Thanks Renee, I did make the mistake of not sealing the floor. Now I have striped them. the are bare. This is a small kitchen. Ihave asked pro. to do the floors for me but they don't weant to bother with something ths small. The only non pro buffer is buy "Gloss Boss". I can't tell if this would do the job or not. Thanks for your input!
    • @Katt you should be able to find an acrylic floor polish at lowes or home depot. maybe even walmart. check online for possible places before running around. good luck

I had the same tiles on my floor. Believe it or not, I used Mop & Glo on my linoleum tiled floor and it worked out well. It gave the floor a nice shine.
  • Katt, you can rent the same machine that the pros use along with the right type of wax that the product manufacture suggests. First off do some research on the tile products you used. The manufacture should be providing you with the correct product list to use on their flooring product. Once you have that information, you should be good to go.
