I'm not sure what you want. You have rats? In the house? Garage? Outside?

My hubby mixed poison in with dog food and left it in our rafters. Nothing else would work and our laundry is in our garage. They had started taking clothes and Christmas ornaments. They were eating the dog food anyway and they weren't fooled by rat traps. They took the bait.

I found a trick that worked on raccoons. Mix Golden Malrin (got at TSC) with coke - they loved it, but prepare to regularly check for and remove carcasses.

I had them come in my garage at about the same time as mice a couple years ago. The evidence was in their poop. I got mouse poisoning. The kind the comes in chunks. I put those chucks where I found the most poops. Later on I found 3 stinking dead rats and 5 dead mice. Incidentally, my beagle had killed 5 rats in my backyard near the grapes vines. He was so proud! He got past me one day after I thought I had clean up the poison. He found one and carried it to me. I got it out of his mouth and the rest of the day he licked his lips. Thankful it wasn't worst!

I used to soak whole almonds in green radiator fluid. Kept a handful of almonds in a jar of the fluid soaking for a long time and removed about 5-10 of the almonds and placed them in a dish or saucer and put that dish where I saw the rat/mouse tracks. After a while, no more rats/mice!! Good luck
