Something is chewing on my hollyhock leaves. Any home-brewed remedies?

    Make a spray using the hottest pepper you can buy at the grocery. Cut up, put in spray bottle and add water. Let sit for a couple of hours before use. This will take care of any pests.

    Soapy water can work too, if you know who's doing the munching.

    Yes, I've had several of my hollyhocks destroyed too. It turned out to be a family of woodchucks/groundhogs. My neighbor used a Have-a-heart to trap them and relocate them to the countryside far away. Or, you could just try a commercial product called Animal-B-gone which gives off a scent which animals hate.
