Hsow to keep quack grass out of flower beds?
I have a problem with quack grass with its miles of long runners getting into all my flower beds even though I have put in landscape edging around every bed I've made. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with this problem?

Quack grass will go under edging. It seems smart that way. I just dig it all up to about six inches outside my garden and take care of it as soon as I see it creeping back into the garden before I have lots of roots in the garden.
Thanks Hillela and Nancy for your replies. I usually keep the edges all dug down deep to keep the roots from getting in but you're right Nancy it does seem smart enough to find ways around and under almost any edging I put in. It got away from me and invaded all my flower beds when I was in hospital for 8 months with surgeries for a brain aneurysm. One bed had no hope at all so I dug up the lillies I knew I could wash off and keep but ended up losing about 60 perennials - the grass was so bad the perennials were dying off anyway so I just used Round-up on the whole bed. I just didn't want to have to do that to my whole yard- it would be very expensive to replace all the perennials.
