How to build a pond-less waterfall

I want to build a 16 waterfall that transcends down an exciting hill. The hill is at an approx. 45 degree angle. Where can I find a reasonably priced kit ? How do I know what size basin to buy or what size pump I will need. Are there any good battery powered or solar powered pumps ? Lastly where can I source the rocks for free?

Btw, I would check with your local free cycle for rocks . Also , I have not had good luck with solar pumps but maybe I just got the wrong kinds.

Solar pumps probably don't have the power for long runs of return pipe or great elevations. I have found solar pumps best for ponds alone.
