Wet Distressing Tutorial

This simple technique turned a couple of dated French Provincial chairs into sophisticated, Swedish-style pieces.
Dated finish and fabric choice was still in good condition. So I painted the fabric with ASCP Paris Gray and wet distressed the legs and moulding.
The first coat was Paris Gray and then a light coat of Pure White was loosely brushed over top.
Before the white had a chance to dry, I took a damp rag and ran it across the wood.
By rubbing a little harder, I was able to get right back to the wood finish adding even more texture to the piece.
It's a subtle finish that works well on carved wood to highlight the details.
