DIY SALT BUCKET- LET IT SNOW!

This winter has been a doozy! The snow blower has had more use this year than I can ever remember! I've had to spread so much more salt as well. I saw a cute wooden salt box which included a little shovel that was painted with a winter snowman scene. I tried to order one, but everywhere I looked on line, they were sold out or wanted way too much for the one they had. So I decided to make one myself. I accidentally found a great metal ash bucket (with a shovel for the ashes) at the local "Christmas Shoppe"! It was perfect- but it was just plain black. I wanted to paint snowflakes on it, or a winter scene, but I couldn't find the snowflake and snowmen stencils I thought I had. And, I am NOT the best at freehand art :(... So, I found some snowflake window clings that I had stored away and hotglued them onto the bucket and VOILA: my handy little salt bucket is now ready for use! (PS. I inserted a little white dollar store plastic basket inside which can be lifted right out to refill with salt.)

I found a great "ash bucket" at a local shop
I hot glued snowflake window clings on three sides
I placed a dollar store plastic basket inside the bucket so it can lift right out to be refilled with salt

Hee, hee! If you have to do an undesirable chore like spread salt in the freezing weather, you may as well be stylin' while doing it! Cute!
