In many municipalities it is still frowned upon, even illegal, mostly for health reasons. If you live somewhere where it is possible to do this, it certainly helps conserve water by using the gray water for the lawn and garden. By using the gray water you are consuming less potable (drinking) water as lawns and gardens are generally the largest portion of a homeowners water consumption. Hopefully some day all homes can have filter systems to use their gray water this way. Would be great for areas where drought is severe.
I live in Pasadena, CA. I know I can use greywater but I am looking for a system to water the lawn.
