I need to paint my front door. The last time I painted it, I did it first thing in the morning and left the door open all day until bed time. The next morning when I opened it, the paint stuck to the rubber door seal and pulled off all the way around the door.
How do you get the paint to dry in one day?

Those rubber door seals are replaceable and you can purchase new ones at a home improvement store. However, this is how I did ours. I took masking tape and covered the rubber door seal completely top to bottom and both sides. Then I used latex paint to paint the door. I too left the door ajar for most of the day. Then at night I closed the door w/the masking tape still on the door seal. Next day just to be sure I left the door ajar a couple of hours. And then later in the evening I took the masking tape off the door seal. I didn't have any problem w/any paint from the door sticking to the seal once I removed the masking tape on the 2nd day

I found that nothing sticks to wax paper. I always keep it around for painting projects. Just cute wax paper into strips wide enough to wrap around the door frame with rubber seal. Tape the strips in place then paint your door. Leave the wax paper on the door frame for as long as it takes for paint to cure and is no longer tacky. Trust me, the painted door will not stick to the wax paper! If acts like it is sticking just gently pull it away. Your paint job will not be harmed at all. Good luck!
