I love our sunroom but I have always hated this one nook right when you walked in. So after a failed "add more function" attempt on my part. I decided to build a functional piece.
This is how the nook looked when we looked at the house, obviously the old owners didn't know what to do with that space either.
This was my attempt at function...which failed and became a catch all.
I purchased old upper cabinets from the Facebook Marketplace for $20.
Created a frame using 2x4's from the Restore as well as cabinet doors. Using scrap wood and caulk I framed it in, painted the whole thing, stained the top and voila! A beautiful and functional nook!
Now I have a bar for entertaining, a potting table for plants and storage for other items!

This looks really great. Your frame picture gives me some helpful ideas for a built in bathroom vanity I am planning to construct. I do think you may have a typo in the caption for the frame, however. That lumber looks like 2x4's not 1x4's as the caption states. I checked your blog and you have it correct there.
Beautiful job though!
