first you have to remove all the old tile and scrape off the stuff the tile was glued with. You can get nice tile with a back already glued , just peel and stick. But the area has to be very clean of dust and dirt. If you have a small area you can buy tiles at a used store where they sell building supplies to people with projects or needing home repairs. less expensive
you could probably glue down some pieces with E6000 which holds fairly well. What about an area rug over this section?
