I have the area that the sump pump sprays water from the basement. This area stays extremely wet and I need a plant that will grow in very wet area.
Why would you rather have an annual? Most shrubs are going to be perennial. Asking so I can research.
Your question said bush, then you said annual?????
On this webpage I am posting for you there is a link for "trees, shrubs, and vines" most of which are shade tolerant. For each plant it lists details about it (making it a 6 page document!) ... I hope this helps you find something you will love having in your yard / garden ;) http://www.redbuttegarden.org/planting-in-the-shade/
Bushes are in a different category than annuals and perennials. Some bushes drop their leaves for winter . Can you clarify what you are needing/wanting?
Why an annual. You'll have to replace it next growing season, year after year.
Are you sure you want an Annual? As you know, a Perennial would pop up every year. How about a shrub that stays green all year round, is tough and winter hardy and is not the typical fir tree? I'm referring to Boxwood. They come in various heights (regular and more miniature in size too) and require very little trimming and don't drop leaves so you don't have to look at boring empty spaces all Winter.
Thank you all for the information!
I did inadvertently say annual rather than perennial.
