My " New Old Stuff" Guest Bedroom

Carol Rigney
by Carol Rigney
My headboard is made from barn wood from a local barn treasured by its owner. The picture frame is made from my families old storage garage that was built from wood from an old store owned by my great grandfather that was torn down. Very special to me. The valance was a honey-do from my husband, as well as my cedar board wall hanging and my jewelry holder. The quilt ladder was also made by my husband for my new hobby of quilting and my vintage quilts. One was made during WWII by his grandmother. The nightgown was my great grandmothers and the bonnets were my grandmothers. The chatting bench my sister is sharing with me. The dressing table belonged to my husbands grandmother and I painted it. The light fixture my husband made from an old lamp shade being hoarded in the attic. I forgot to mention he also made the headboard and picture frame. I love to be in this room. It proves nothing should be discarded completely. Save small pieces from your family and share the stories.

Thank you. I love it too. I should have collected old lamp shades from friends and family first. Now I can't get them to throw theirs my way. Yard sales here I come!

I just did the same thing in my room with the ladder but I put my scarves on it.
