Possible conflict of root-sysyems between the conifers and the bamboo. As-in, "fighting for underground territory"! The depth of good soil is important for conifers but bamboo ravages at all levels unless firmly controlled (by inground dividers and frequent cultivation).
(I had 2 beautful pine trees about 40ft tall and one morning I found them both flattened.......the evidence was there: the roots had travelled sideways and did not support the trees vertically; they were growing on pure clay!),
Conifers are susceptible to mites,Check for signs of webbing on the trees.Use a systemic insect killer for them
