How do I keep plumbing under a sink from leaking when I replace PVC?
Every time I replace any plumbing under a sink, there is a period of time where I get a small amount of leaking. This may happen for a day or so up to a month or more. I end up putting something under the sink, "just in case", for months on end.

I use plumbers tape to wrap the connections before putting it pack together. I has always worked for me. You need to wrap it several times then screw it together.
It's called teflon tape. Only wrap two to three times. If there is a small leak, (seepage,) this is not unusual, and should seal itself off in a short while. I put a container under it, and it usually stops within 24 hours.
