you can buy a kit to do exactly that. Or your next option is to take it to an electrical place and have them do it for you but yes it can be done
You can weave the cord into a piece of chain. Is the pendant light not a pole type?
You will have to get chain, the parts to connect the chain, and replace the cord with a longer one. Do not splice the cord. It is against code & is a fire hazard.
