Put the bamboo on the ground in the pattern you want and use twine, fine rope, or even zip ties to secure them together.

Wisteria is a very strong aggressive vine. I am not sure that the bamboo can take the weight and tugging of the wisteria vines. I would consider something stronger and something that has a longer life span than bamboo.

decide the length and width of the trellis. cut your pieces and let them dry. when dry lay the long uprights on your work surface and using small nails attach the cross pieces. my trellis has about a foot between cross pieces.
you can use 100 percent cotton roping to wrap the cross pieces and keep them stable. soak them first- it will let them stretch a bit, and when they dry they shrink... make a tighter hold.
